Sorry, folks...I'm still in the dumps. I am just rolling with some bad news I got 2 days ago. We'll see how things develop. I'm not letting it spend my money except I did charge a summer outing last night, but I'm happy with that, and it wasn't an overwhelming amount. It will be paid off before I go.
Oh, so work was crazy the last 2 days.....and folks at work are talking about money, and I'm getting insight into other people's money spending habits........I get the feeling I may not be doing so poorly. I can afford my lifestyle. That is a relief.
I have a lot of chores to do tonight. As usual!!!!! I am going to try to get rid of at least one garbage bag of stuff. I need to clear some space. Lots of space. Other folks at work were talking about that, too. Too much stuff.
I just have no spending urge. I;m glad. I'm hoping it continues. I just want to see those credit card balances go down. I decided that IF I have to use a credit card that I am only using one particular one so I can at least see the balances go down on the other ones. I just want to see progress somewhere. Right now I do feel that I am at a plateau, and I am going to have to keep working at this and let time go by, and then things will loosen up.
I have tomorrow off from work. I'm so happy! I am looking foward to a nice weekend, but I will have to spend a bit of cash for a few things I have to do.....throw in a gift for a 4 year old.......
I'm just going to BREATHE. Littlesbigs

Hello Littlesbigs,
Good work continuing to declutter and stop those spending urges. I know I appreciate my "stuff" more when I don't have a lot of clutter hiding the things I love among the junk. I usually spend 15 minutes decluttering every couple of days, because I seldom have spending urges for "house stuff". Or rather, my spending urges are directed toward setting up sinking funds (with $1 balances) for all the things I'd like to save up for when I finish paying off the credit card debt.
I'm still following Dave Ramsey's plan, so college & retirement savings will come first, but that won't take all of our income either. Our big emergency fund (we have a baby one too with $1000 in it) is still relatively intact ($14,000) since I didn't spend all of my DH's severance while he was laid off. If we had our house paid off and had no other payments, that would be enough for nearly a year of expenses!
I just have to keep DH from thinking that money is *available* for new car / truck
Sincerely,
Lindsey Schocke
