Trying to stop the insanity!

March was an outrageously expensive month for us. First there was the Mens Wearhouse craziness, and then with the move, we incurred another thousand dollars worth of debt. Currently, we sit with our "moving" money in our savings account because i don't want to use it to pay off the debts because dh does not have a job currently. So right now, our cc debt is at about $23,500, and I am the only one working. Now we are not paying rent, and I do expect my dh to get a job soon, but we need the money in savings until then. this has been a whirlwind week, it took us longer to get out of our appt than we expected, we ended up paying for two nights at a hotel, too, the first night because I took the kids there while dh finished cleaning up...the second night because dh was going to attempt to drive the moving truck 600 miles after being up for 30 hours straight. (I ended up getting out here first.) now that we are here, we have had expenses related to sending our girls to school, and next week we will rent a Dumpster to try to get rid of some of the junk in this house. We still have boxes in every room, because we literally don't have any room to put our stuff because this place is a mess. i want to get this place cleaned up so i can bring my dad home from the hospital instead of sending him back to the nursing home. So I will have my hands full for the next couple of months anyhow, as i file for guardianship.
Please pray for us, that this turns out ok for my youngest, who we took out of therapy in order to be here. So far, negotiations with the school are going ok!

To keep better track of money, i pulled $200 cash to last until the next payday (except gas and the dumpster)...I am hoping we can get our acts together so we don't go bankrupt! We will get our $675 sec deposit back in the next couple of weeks. Can't wait until we get settled... Heather

Hi, Heather. I am sending hugs your way, as fast as I can. Am glad you are getting "settled". Moving is challenging, but at least you get to spend time with your dear father, priceless memories and sharing. Boxes piled to Mars? Sounds like the makings of a great garage sale, simplifying your lifestyle, and getting rid of stuff--a treasure trove to someone else. Sending support your way--Whiz.

Hi, Whiz,
Thanks : ) Mars is about it, too... A garage sale is definitely in the not so distant future for us. We have boxes of stuff to sell, not to mention we are weeding through the house for stuff. Ayhow, your post made me smile...thanks!! Heather

Thanks !
I am not so stressed now that we are here (except for the money thing.) The three weeks leading up to the move, and especially the day of the move, were beyond frustrating. If we get to bring Dad home, it will be worth it!! Heather

Thanks, student...
It does take awhile to get settled in, and in all of this, I have only seen my dad once, but with family and friends rallying around us, I hope we are able to make it through this ok. thanks again for the prayers, Heather
