I am hearing that gas prices are going to be so high this summer, and I am frustrated that it will affect my efforts to pay down my debt. I think I wan tot take the bus to work again.........I may not be able to, however..........other things will be affected by this cost, like food!!!! I just feel like I can't win!
I am going to try to stay focused on THRIFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I laughed when I got a sale flyer in the mail for a beauty products sale.....ordinarily I would have jumped at it....the prices are good, BUT I HAVE ENOUGH right now, and I need to act to recognize that.
You know, I think I just won't be going to go for long drives this summer....I LOVE driving thru the country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GAS, GAS, GAS...............................
THRIFT!!!!!!!!!!! Going to work on it for sure!

I hear you about food prices too, seems like that was a convenient excuse to raise dairy prices a couple of years ago and the prices never went down, and it trickled everywhere. Even our favorite pizzaria had a $5 Monday night special, it's went up to $6.95 because of cheese prices and never came down.
Good job not buying the beauty products that can be tough sometimes.
have a good night,
Pam

Proud sister of a Marine:
I'm with you, Littlebigs. These reports of higher gas prices really don't make me want to go driving either. We do have two big trips planned already, though. One is this weekend to Florida (about 407 miles each way), and a trip to MD in May (609 miles each way) to visit our folks. We're staying with my parents to avoid my very annoying brother-in-law, but that means that for the three days we'll be spending with my inlaws, we'll be adding another 60 miles of driving per day. That much is unavoidable. I did, however, tell Dh that just because we have a new car this year, it does NOT mean that we're taking everyone and their brother for a 'test drive' to have them check out the new car. They can just admire it parked in the driveway, and that'll have to be good enough. LOL! Once these trips are done, we'll be able to stay home until the Fall. Thank goodness! :-D
I don't like the idea of having to pay over $3.00 per gallon of gas again, but honestly, I'd rather have high gas prices and ample supply than to run into the shortages we had late last summer. We were on vacation in Orlando when Katrina hit New Orleans, and we had a very hard time getting home because all the stations were out of gas. We had to drive on fumes to find stations that still had some premium gas left to sell. The shortages were scarier than the high prices.
