The best way to pay off a judgment?

I have a judgment against me for a hospital bill that I need to pay. I’m paying it in full on 04/28/06. What is the best way to go about this? I have NOT been in much contact w/ the attorney cause I’m scared to call them from work (cause I don’t want them to know where I work).
Should I simply send them a check or should I send a money order. Should I call them on the 28th and pay by debit card? I want there to be a paper trail so that I can later prove that it was paid. Perhaps I should go to the office and write out a check and get a receipt. I would LOVE for this item to be removed from my CR’s eventually is there anyway that I can make a deal with the attorney that I’ll pay in full in exchange for a favorable notation on my CR?
I welcome any and all ideas.
Thanks for reading! Everyone on this board has been SOOO helpful and supportive.

I would write a letter, explaining that this is payment in full, and reference the enclosed check (or money order - whatever you decide to use).
All my best,
Danni
Ok, I’ve been researching off and on all day trying to come up with the best way to handle the payment of the judgment against me.
What I’m going to do is go to my bank and get a certified check payable to the attorney for the amount that I owe. Then I’m going to write a letter to the attorney (and enclose a COPY of the certified check). I will nicely ask the attorney if he willing to vacate the judgment and get the case dismissed w/ prejudice (in exchange for my full payment). What this does I’m finding out is kind of “removes” the judgment from the court offices. I can then at a later date verify this judgment w/ the credit reporting agency. If they verify the case won’t exist and it is likely that it will be removed from my CRs.
Anyways, that’s what I’m going to do!
