Hi This morning I left to go run errands. I go by my local gas station to get out on the main road. When I left at 10 this morning gas was 2.69. When I came back another gas station that had same price jumped up to 2.81 in one morning. What the heck is going on with this. Is there no end to it. I feel so gulity if DH and i go for a ride on the weekends. Guess we will have to stay home and stare at each other. There is just so much adjusting one can do to there budget. Enjoy your day!!

I saw the same thing one day except I'd filled up at $2.79 or something and later in the day it was $2.40 or something so imagine how ticked I was. I think they just do that to freak w/ people. I understand gas prices have to go up and down as w/ anything but lordy--don't even get me started on heating my house. My bill went down to $192 this past month, lucky me!

Hi, Over 40--Found a website for you---www.fueleconomy.gov. You can click on your state (and then city) to find the cheapest gas prices. There is a FAQ (why are gas prices so high), gas mileage tips, etc., fueltracker.com, etc. Gas here? Try $3.00, $3.09, $3.15 and up! Here's what DH is doing:

l) Traded in SUV for Honda CRV---smaller, more fuel efficient.
2) Avoid buying gas off freeway exits. Usually, more expensive.
3) Checking tires (mine were low), and unloading trunk.
4) Buy off-brand gas---ARCO, etc.
We're trying to shop around the neighborhood stores, taking side roads, etc.

Natural gas is even more expensive. I just noticed cobwebs (again) at the ceiling, and we just cleaned house, so it is time to get the furnace/AC filters cleaned. I feel the pain, indeed. Gas prices have affected airline tickets, also. I found alot of neat ideas on that web site. Hugs. WHiz.

Thanks Whiz for the website I will be checking it out. My neighbor came up today and wanted to know if I saw what the gas price was and then I get all keed up again. I have a house to clean today so am going to do it before I go into my other job and not have to make 2 trips. Then my SIL calls today to talk about the house that they want to buy and do this and that and I just don't want to hear it. Not when we are trying so hard to pay everything and still manage a little bit of fun. We settle for a pop up and she gripes about oh we don't like ours and are buying a big camper with slides and the whole works. Well atleast my pop up is paid for and I OWN IT. So I can enjoy my camping weekends and not think about camper payments. I guess I have been crabby enough for one post. I just love this board. I owe i owe so off to work I go. Have a great day.

I HAD to fill up last night and found it for $2.86/gal with $2.95 right across the street. Total cost $52. That's hard to take. I think I'll stay close to home this weekend.
