Ah, crap...speeding ticket

Ah, crap, I got a ticket this morning on the way to work. Down this 2-lane road where the speed limit is 35, lotsa turns, but everybody flies by. I shoulda known, there's always cop cars there. Wonder how much the fine will be..., ah well, I'll fit it in the budget somewhere. I haven't had a ticket in years!!!!!!!
And that arrogant cop seemed SOOOO disappointed that there was no problem with my insurance or registration. Poor fella, I guess he was hoping to pull out the cuffs and drag somebody away today. So sad. (read sarcasm)
Cupcake's gotta slow down now.

Yeah, that's a possibility -- IF I wanna give up the time, that is. I was 50 in a 35, so it'll be at least a C-note, blech!
is it one of those, that you have to see the judge? When we were living in California, my husband got a speeding ticket. He had to face the judge. We were on a way to Lake Tahoe, passing a small town (Eureka). I will never forget the town. Anyway, the ticket was for $1,600. Yes....you read correctly. He was able to get it lower to $1,300.00
Good luck to you. Hope it isn't alot.
MYM
Cupcake, my husband gets TONS of speeding tickets.
Good grief, that's outrageous. I'll steer clear of Eureka!
Yikes!
I think I just phone the number and get a $ amount and mail them in a check. Unless, of course I want to protest it. But, I do have a leadfoot sometimes, so I'm sure I was speeding even though I wasn't paying any attention to the speedometer. Everybody flies down that stretch of road.
I'm not worried about my traffic record or insurance going up. Even though I do have a leadfoot, I've only had a couple of tickets in the last ten years. It's just aggravating--I guess it was just my turn to get caught.
I'll pay the fine. I guess your hubby and I BOTH need to slow way down.
It just ticked me off that the cop acted MAD that he could ONLY cite me for speeding. Sheesh! My registration expired last month, but I already had the '07 sticker on, so when he looked at it, at first he saw the 03 and thought he could fine me for that, but he realized it was current--at first he read it as 2006. And my insurance certificate just renewed a week ago, but I had that in the car too, so I was driving perfectly legally, except for the speed of course, lol.
I'm not slamming police at all, but this particular guy was a jerk!
