well,
Things are so-so here. Dh has a phone interview with a bank tomorrow..wages would be less than what he was making before, but right now our outgo exceeds our income, so I don't know just how picky we should be right now.
wow! to get guardianship of my dad will be at least a thousand dollars! I don't even know if i should do it, but if i don't, it will just make things that much harder to settle later on.
This house looks like a trash pit. We are still finding receipts for the electric bill dated 1971. I have worked hard this week getting stuff out of here, and it still looks like a dump.
I had the flu yesterday...stopped puking by 2:00, so decided I would try to make it to work at 10 pm, but only lasted two hours because i failed to realize you feel much better lying down in bed than you do trying to be upright. Total waste there, but I tried it anyhow.
Dh is ripping up the funky green carpet in our bedroom as we speak! Beneath...beautiful hardwood floors. Man this place needs a lotta TLC.
Anyhow, back at it...if I am lucky, I will get a nap before I have to work tonight!!
Heather

hi heather. sorry to hear of everything you are going through. hang in there, girl. you have your family and are there for your dad. hope he's doing better.
mym
P.S.sending you a cyberhug.
Oh I know how that goes!
Sending you some virtual encouragement...
It sounds like you've got a whole lot on your plate right now. I wish you well. Congrats about finding the floors. I hope you discover something valuable in the purging process that will net a few bucks on ebay or something...
Is your Dad suffering from some sort of senility or a physical illness? He's lucky to have you looking out for him, actually.
Good luck on the job search front. Even if it's not the perfect situation, all jobs can be learning experiences and a way to "keep the lights on".
Hope your flu is short-lived. I find peppermints help when I'm queasy.
Chin up!

Hey, everyone,
Thanks for the encouragement! This sure has been a rollercoaster ride. On top of everythng else, i have found that my brother did not submit all he needed to for my dad's medicaid, so he doesn't have it in place right now, which means it would be awfully tough to get him home, as we won't be able to afford any services for him. But is he stays where he is at, in order for him to qualify, we have to have proof that his house is on the market by 8/8. Well, this particular letter was dated 3/30...my brother did not even bother to read it. So it really does turn out that I was going to be his ticket out of this mess, and that he wasn't planning to help me resolve any of it. So I am a little po'ed.
I don't know what to do, but I know that when we cash in my dh's pension in June (with a 30% penalty, but I have a feeling $20/mo won't mean that much to us when he is 65), we will have more than enough money to move again if we need to. It just irks me
Crossing my fingers that dh's interview leads him somewhere...the hr person actually recognized his name from when he and she both worked for a different company about six years ago, so that is a good sign!!
Patience will get me through this, right? its not like i can expect to get here and get everything cleaned up in three weeks, right?
Something interesting did happen to me today...i took a $1/hr paycut when I moved to the new store..just a difference in how they pay their third shifters. Well, i went from one position to another, and today, my assistant called me in the office and wanted to give me another 20cent cut. I told him that he could put me back in my old position..I can't really afford to lose another $32/ month. Well, he said i would have to take it up with the store manager, which I did, and the store manager sided with me : )
A SMALL victory, but a victory nonetheless. Heather
Oh geez!
Aww, nuts, Heather! DH just went through this getting his Grandma into assisted living. Medicaid rules are pretty strict, and DH's uncles just stuck their heads in the sand and ignored everything, kind of like your brother. We were lucky that his grandma had signed the house over to a relative long enough ago that it wasn't an issue. Are you working with a local senior help office/council on aging/community services (I can't remember if your dad is 65 yet or not)? The office here was helpful in getting Grandma's stuff organized, and we actually got the most help from her assisted living facility. I know you've mentioned having done Medicaid before for your girls, so you probably understand the system some already, but hey, every bit of help helps.
Hugs to you.
