I finally paid off a loan that has been hanging over my head for YEARS! Actually, a line of credit I took out to "help" a mooch of an ex to the tune of $3500. (He promised to pay - I saw $300 total from him) I paid off all but $800 then added another $1000 to it. I hated paying this because he turned out to be a lying, cheating negative to my happiness person. I have since fully recovered emotionally and am thankfully in a wonderful, healthy relationship now but I could not wait to pay that darn thing off.
After the third go round with an agency (my fault - I always quit), I paid off a credit card last month and finally paid off this line of credit!!!!! HAPPY DAY!!!!! Two down, three more items to go!!
I do own the gas company $700 and my eye doctor $500...but, its still a happy dance day.
Thanks for all the support. I've been posting since I took that line of credit out in 2001...against the good advice from posters here...
Lauren :)

Way to go Lauren! Every step towards your goal is a great achievement, and I am sure this one makes you feel especially good because of the connection to your ex! Way to go.

Congratulations! That's great! every triumph is cause for celebration! Soon you will have it all paid off, then you will really have reason to DANCE, DANCE, DANCE!!! Thanks for sharing this success, I think it really helps motivate others when we see someone else succeed! Keep going, you are doing great, and it sounds like that doesn't just apply to your financial state. Congratulations on getting out of a bad relationship, I've been there, done that, so I know how good it feels to get out! :)

deciding to be happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, but that you had decided to look beyond the imp

Thanks everyone! I am happy. I still have alot on my plate and I still stress over no efund, etc., but when I look back on where I was to where I am now, in every aspect I am doing so much better.
Yeah, negative relationships...too bad you can't see how negative until you have some distance. I am fortunate all the way around. IT CAN BE DONE. I am getting there and if I am getting there, ANYONE can do it. :)
