Goals as you accomplish steps

I am just wondering if any of you have set goals, long term or short term, for when you complete certain steps in your plan to get out of debt.
For example, I would really, really, really love to do a hot air balloon ride, but I can't justify the cost now. I am telling myself that I can do this after all of the credit cards are paid off. Or maybe I will be even better than that wait until after the credit cards AND the car are paid off. Wow, that seems a long way off.
You get the idea though. Please share.

Target debt #1-2nd mortgage that is now on a CC (4,049).
Actually, I don't just because right now it's more survival mode for us at the moment.
However, it's a wonderful idea.

Hi Heather...
DH & I definitely set small goals for ourselves.

Yes- we have LOTS of goals for when we are finally debt-free. We're basically following Dave Ramsey's plan, so definitely a 6-month emergency fund, increased retirement funding, savings for vehicles, etc.
The most exciting goal is moving to a home with a basement. We live in tornado alley. Most of the recent deaths from tornados in MO have been within an hour or so from us. I'm terrified of the storms and my oldest DD is also. She actually gets physically sick she gets so scared. So DH and I have decided we'd feel safer and have more peace of mind if we just moved and had our own basement. We also want/need the extra space for our hobbies, kid's playroom etc.
Other fun goals are visiting my sister more often in Florida. She's in a great location, close to the beach, close to Disney, Sea World etc. I'd like to try & visit her MUCH more often, especially while the girls are still young.
Then there's the necessary things like washers/dryers, saving for home repairs, etc.
Someone mentioned a car detailing- yep- that's on my list too- and for the very same reason!!
Hello,
I like to treat DH to a saturday lunch at a nice restaurant we both like. When we pay off a credit card and close it, I use $32 from the snowball and pay for our celebratory lunch in cash.
I have several Ing accounts set up to hold funds I'd like to save, including a computer fund, car fund, Italy trip, and appliance replacement.
Sincerely,

I have a goal of taking my son to Alaska for his 10th birthday. My Dh and I went there back in 1994, and it has been, by far, our most wonderful vacation memory. We never went back again, though, due to finances, buying our home, losing our first child, having our second child, and then we just figured our son was too young to truly enjoy it, so we decided to wait until he was older. So...he's just about 8 years old now, and I want to have not only my finances under control by then so I can afford the trip but also my weight. I'm big enough that I'd probably be forced to buy 2 airplane seats, which means my family likely couldn't even sit together on the plane ride over...so I've got to get myself in shape. I've lost 12 pounds so far, and I've got another 123 to go! And on the financial side, I've got $5700 to pay off on my credit card before making the trip. :-D
It helps to have goals so you can see what you're working for. :-D
