Hopefully with the child support thing moving faster, maybe DH's visitation can move a little faster too. I know it is still going to be tough, buy maybe if DH can actually get to attempt a relationship with his kids, that will take some of the sting out?

And I know that I am in the minority here, but I enjoy working part time and getting a little break from my kids (and they from me). I hope you will be able to find something to balance contributing to income and daycare and family time. I'm rooting for ya!

Sarah, I wouldn't mind a break from my son every now and again, but I hate to be away from my husband!!! (He is gone from 3 am til 3/4/5 pm most days.)

Hi Aravis,

Have you considered being a nanny or taking care of one to two children for a working mom (in their home?) You could find a position that allows you to bring your son and the fact that you are home schooling would work in your favor if you could include her children as well. I know that nannies around here are getting paid about $400 a week for part-time (three days a week) and that doesn't include someone that could provide education and activities. That way you'd also be home at about 5 or 6 and could spend time with the DH.

Just a thought:)

Congrats on the adoption, I bet the whole family is pretty excited. I was wondering while reading your post and the situation w/ the child support--I was wondering if technically your son will soon be dh's son if legally (in child support terms) if that will affect his income since technically he will be legally obligated to support his adopted son, kwim? Hmm...I hope it all works out for everyone involved.

I haven't found a nanny position that pays more than $150/ week and DH just did not seem receptive to the idea...
