A couple of months ago, I celebrated a milestone where I was so happy we were finally below the $10,000 mark on our cc debt.

The keys to your home!! That is outstanding! Congratulations!

I've been on the board off and on since 2001. If I had stuck with the board and the CCCA programs from day one, I'd be yelling "I'm debt free!" but I struggled and stopped coming to the board, stopped CCCA. You are right about milestones! I just paid off a loan that was $3500. My MBNA used to be $4000 and now it is $2600. I agree with you about the success of under another thousand - with me, I get so excited being under another hundred even! (MBNA went from over $2600 to $2553 today!) Please continue to post your under a thousand milestones. It is inspiring!

Congratuations on the house! And keep the posts about the $1000 milestones coming. I just started working on my debt at the beginning of April, and it is very motivating to read posts where others detail how far they have come in a certain period of time!

Congrats on you new home and the milestone, I'm sure each thousand comes just a little bit faster too as you are paying interest on a smaller amount. Of course your snowflakes may go down, but your net worth will increase as you build equity in your home, that is worth taking a little longer to pay off your debt, right? :)

Way to go!! We love to celebrate the success of reaching milestones. I like the idea 1 thousand at a time. Some of our debts are so big it seems like it will be F-O-R-E-V-E-R before we will be debt free. I look forward to reaching milestones as well. Thanks for sharing!!!!
