Just Need to Vent......

Hello all, I am a lurker, although I did post a couple of times, but I just needed to vent. I am so frustrated.....here's the thing. A couple of years ago my DH co-signed for a vehicle for a person we trusted. Well, that person is no longer making the pymts...so we asked for the vehicle. We are putting it up for sale but in the meantime, guess who has to make the pymts or have it repo'd. We are trying to keep our credit good, and hoping it sells sooner rather than later. WE KNOW now this was STUPID, STUPID, STUPID. But now we have to suffer through it.....sooo as it stands right now, there goes some of my pay down debt money. We are still paying down debt but notas much on the credit cards. We have them down to under $3500.....but don't know what's going to happen now. Thanks for letting me vent......I just thought we were smart and like I said we trusted this person. Dave Ramsey would say this is our STUPID TAX. JanW

Don't beat yourself up too much. I'm sure you'll sell it and you'll put it behind you.
Now you know.......you'll not make the same mistake again.

Hang in there. At least they are giving you the vehicle back so that you can sell it. It is a tough lesson to learn, but try to not let it get you too down. You are doing great. I can't imagine having my cc debt down to 3500, so that is a great accomplishment! This may set your overall payoff back a couple of months but you will still get there. Hopefully you will be able to sell the car for what is owed on it or more.

My dad always says, "Education is expensive, and if all it costs is money, it's pretty cheap."

Hopefully, you haven't lost a friendship over this as well. But in any event, I can see how frustrating it is! I'm glad you've got control of the vehicle and are doing something about it. I'll hope for it to sell (and for a good price!) soon.

Blessings,

You are not stupid, but a kind and giving person. Unfortunately this person has put you in a position you would rather not be in, I had the same from my neighbour. She ordered an item from my business, but said she didn't have the cash to pay for it on her so I let her have the item with the agreement of being paid later. Well she tried really hard not to pay, but I had to keep asking her for the money. Eventually she did pay as I wouldn't let it go and I have never sold to her since.
I hope you can get all the money back for the car and maybe enough on top to make up for your lost snowflakes.

Thanks everyone for your encouragement. It helps a great deal to know there are a lot of people on this board who are so encouraging and not judgmental at all. We were trying to help someone out who we thought a lot of and who had some health problems, but unfortunately it wasn't appreciated. But you are right at least we have the chance to sell it and at least get what is owed on it (hopefully). Thanks again. Hope everyone is having a good day today. It's rainy here in MI. JanW
