Frustrated...venting

I haven't been on this board in a couple of months. Everytime I come back I know why I need to be here. I'm just really frustrated this morning. Started because DH was frustrated that I've only budgeted $30/week for each of us for gas. He said "I can't wait to have money so I can actually fill my gas tank up." Well honey, you drive a truck....you're mileage isn't the greatest. I didn't say that but I was thinking it.
We've had some positive things happening to counteract the frustration of debt. We paid off his truck with our tax return, that frees up $250/month and knocks out one debt. We also just got rid of our cable, so that's another $40/month. I'm trying to snowflake, we would have had over $100 to snowflake this month but I had to get hot rollers and a spent a little at Victoria's...yeah, yeah...I know...no I didn't need either. Nope, can't take 'em back, used the rollers and wore the Vicki's stuff. Ugh...so frustrating.
Just needed to vent all that out to people that I know will understand. Thanks for reading. Now, going to see how I can adjust our monthly budget a bit.

Congratulations on paying off the truck!! That is worth celebrating! My dh gets frustrated not over gasoline (thank goodness he drives a little, ancient VW that gets decent gas mileage) but over groceries. He hates that we never seem to have all the "extras" with a meal--when we have chili, seems like there's never bread to go with it; when we have mexican, seems like there's never enough salsa; etc. This is because I keep to a very strict budget, and often just buying the basics--the meat and veggies--brings us to the end of our budget for that pay period, so we do without the extras. Don't remember the last time we had croutons or sunflower seeds with salad.
Anyway, I understand yours and your dh's frustration, but it will get better as your debt goes down. It would also get better of you could get your dh to consider settling for a more fuel-efficient vehicle! LOL
Blessings,
Heather
