Needing encouragement...

I posted this earlier, but I was in the accountablility thread, and I have definitely not been accountable. It's been a long time since I posted, but I feel like such a loser right now. My DH and I both get paid on the 1st and the 15th. Well, he is on direct deposit, so he actually got paid on the 27th, and boy did we need it. We took our kids to Disney World in April. Our taxes paid for the tickets and hotel, and what should have been most of our spending money. When we got back, we had spent way more than what I had planned, so that just through my budget out of whack. So today I had to play catch up with the bills, plus pay summer camp fee, my daughter's dance recital is next week ($36 for a dvd!), jeep taxes, etc. Oh yeah, this weekend, we've got a 3 hour drive one way for DH's grandparent's 65th wedding anniversary. They are 87 and 88 this year, and we already missed a birthday party, so we feel like we can't skip this one, but the gas is going to kill me. I just balanced my checkbook, and I have $59.00 until DH gets paid again on the 12th. I feel sick. Of course the good news is I have all my bills paid, DH can use the gas card when he needs gas this week, and I really won't need groceries for a couple of weeks (except milk and bread). I should be okay, but it is really depressing to have such a bad month. Thanks for listening (reading)!!

Sorry you are feeling bad about the month..
Whatever the case, don't feel guilty about anything (like Disney!!). Things like that are deserved... even if you have to scrape by the next month you know? You wouldn't throw away those memories just to have some more cash in the bank...I know I wouldn't! (I am going to Disney on Wednesday, actually.. !!!) We live in Florida , though.. so I imagine it's a little easier to go because we don't fly to get there..
So , yeah.. you had a bad month, but you will recover.. I don't know if you have an e-fund, or even just a credit card if something drastically goes wrong until the 12th at least you can rely on those if you have them. Just make up for it next month, and move on. I think as long as your bills are paid then you are doing something right! Don't get so down on yourself!
I don't know if I helped any. I have been there many times with less the $59.00 to get by 12 days on!-- if that makes you feel better! :)

We all have months like that. Try not to beat yourself up over it. Do you have any kind of emergency fund that you could take the gas money from rather than using the gas card? If you do I would think using the ER fund instead of the gas card would be better, and then just replace the ER money with the next paycheck.
