Applying for a summer job, it won't pay

very well. But it is one where I can control the hours and days. It is in a clothing store at our local amusement park. I worked a few days there last summer. I figure I can make an extra $100 per week, working 2-3 shifts. So it will be worth it.
At the very least it should allow me to keep up with all the expenses for my sons boyscouts, and band if he gets in (we find out later today). I am hopeful to put each check onto debt. Adding 400 per month will allow me to pay off several small cards during the summer and get a good start on a big one.

That sounds like a great plan. You will feel so much better after paying off some of those smaller debts. Whenever you get frustrated when working just keep telling yourself "I'm getting out of debt!".

Stacy, $100/week is WONDERFUL!
Thank you everyone for your encouragement!
I wish my dh was as excited. He just doesn't see the need. I am like hello! we owe $33,000 in bills, not counting the house, cars, or student loans! This is other loans, credit cards, and medical.
I lost my other part time job in January, the loss was about $200 per month. We did trade one car off and get a small econo car and that helped to cut our gas costs. But I want to see those debt numbers falling quicker! and there are alway so many extra expenses! We are cutting our debt by several hundred dollars each month, but it just isn't fast enough for me.
SO I am taking it upon myself to get this job. I hope to start next weekend and will work through the end of September. I can't work many weekends in June due to other obligations, but I will work 3 nights each week if I can then.
