Hi! I can't sleep, I just don't feel well. Could be anything. Oh, well. (Debt does not keep me up at night.)
I thought I'd stop by here to say hello....Hello!
I haven't been able to do anything since my debt total rocketed upwards last month. I am just trying to hang in there and NOT SPEND. Certainly NOT CHARGE ANYTHING!!!!!!!! Nothing!!!!
While I was lying here awake, I saw a commercial about paying off debt, and it had a character in it that was antagonizing the debtee.......The character doing the antagonizing was representing debt.....I almost died laughing!!!!!!! Was this Cousin Bernadette???????? (That is the name I gave my relationship with debt...seems SHE lives with ME like a relative I have to support!!!!)
I am looking forward to my next paycheck so I can start paying the debt down......Right now, my numbers are just not moving. I have a bunch of change to turn into the bank from the piggy bank.....going to use it to create a snowflake....try to pay down SOMETHING even if it is just $9.50..........
One of the gals at work was talking about how much she uses her credit card over the telephone, and she was worried now that maybe she'd exposed herself to a lot of potential identity theft. She was going on about where she shopped, all the pizzas she's bought and paid for over the phone....I was starting to wonder how she pays for it all. Later on that afternoon, she was looking over the QVC website and taking note of all the stuff for sale, looking for something to buy. She was looking at a "fashion victim" purse and asking me if I liked it.....no, I don't need a Christmas purse..........
I was cleaning like crazy the last week to meet a deadline with company coming over. They came, they went, they left their pets.....Well, now they'll be coming back in a few days to get them, and I have to try not to make a huge mess before they do. There is a MOUNTAIN of junk in the bedroom that I have to now go thru and sort out, toss out, work out........when I look at it, I see the stuff I charged over the years.....and I wonder what I am still paying on?????? When I was looking at the huge pile of stuff, I was almost sick. Well, I am going to take time today after I get more rest this morning to start at one side of the mountain and begin the purge/organize/sort process.....I tend to make a bigger mess before I actually clear the real mess. yikes...............
Have a great Saturday! Littlesbigs

Hey LB..
Congratulations on not adding to the debt "pile" ..that is one thing you are cleaning up very well. I want you to know that all your talk about home cleaning & organizing has really put a bee in my bonnet. I got rid of SO much stuff this week.
So even if your house isn't clean for all your efforts MY house is much cleaner for all of your efforts...and I have a 4 bedroom and 3 kids(4 if you count DH)!
So THANK YOU....I needed a kick in the pants.
Loca
That certainly sounds like Cousin Bernadette on that commercial!
Hi, Locachica,
I am glad you are getting some inspiration! I am trying to get control over a lot of things in my life and the debt and the condition of the house seem to go together for me, so I write about it. Nice to know that even if I can't get clean up my own right now that I am helping you get yours done! :)
I just have a lot of little things to get done, and I am having a tough time with it. Time, money, health, work...they all tie me up.....and then things get out of control. Today is a day all to myself.....Going to relax and try to accomplish a few things no matter how small. Just making a snowflake payment would lift my spirits, be a good step in the right direction!
Take care!

Hello,
I'm joining you in the "wow I actually *bought* this junk?" moments. I have been cleaning out the shelves in our home office. Dh has boxes of computer parts and cables. I have office supplies and other miscellaneous stuff. I went through the office supplies and tossed quite a few things that we never use. I moved the supplies to a higher shelf, which I emptied, because I realized I was having to bend over to search through the supplies whenever I needed something. I hate it when I can't just look at a shelf and find what I need on it, because I have to search through a "pile" of stuff that I stashed on that shelf. Anyway, the net effect is that I emptied two shelves completely, wiped away the dust with some Windex and paper towels, then moved the office supplies to a higher shelf for ease of use.
In the process, I filled a trash can with things on that shelf and nearby shelves. We have four fullsized bookshelf units that are usually stuffed to the brim. I'm hoping to get to the point where everything on those shelves has space around it and I can see what's on each shelf at a glance.
I found a small box of photos I had forgotten about. My DH and I had fun going through them. I put them in my Creative Memories storage box, where all of the photos I find during my decluttering process are going to be stored in the future. It was fun to go through the photos, then drag the trashbag out to the garage. More stuff *leaving the house*! Woohoo!
The only way this works for me is to work on *one* shelf at a time, for 15 minutes, then take a break. I moved a few things to another room because they didn't belong in the office. I'm making progress slowly but surely!
Sincerely,
Lindsey Schocke
