Broke but another card paid off!

So I was looking at my checkbook and realized I am completely broke until a week from Friday. I was really bummed about it. And I owe the gas company, am 2 weeks late on my student loan, uggghhhh. I opened one of three credit card bills left and realized that May 19th, I will be making the last payment from CCCA to Capitol One!!! Yeah!!!! Then that $151 will be snowballed to another payment. In January I started CCCA (AGAIN) with 6 cards/loans. As of May 19, it will be down to 3! My cc and unsecure loan debt has gone from $7000 to $5700. Slowly plugging away. No new debt (aside from the eye doctor - new glasses and contacts on payment plan) and once these are done (hopefully by Jan 2007) I will only owe my Jeep payment and my student loans. LOL - "only". Believe me, I'll still owe plenty.

Of course my first instinct was to go to jetBlue.com and see how much a trip to the Bahammas would be since I've never been. $500 for airfare and three nights...but I am going to follow advice I've gotten here on ONE trip a year and I already went to Ireland this year. I NEED TO HAVE WILLPOWER. I CANNOT AFFORD TO GO ANYWHERE. I am a compulsive vacationer.

Well done on paying down your debt. Looks like things are speeding up for you as that extra money on your next priority debt will make it disappear quicker. Maybe you could plan the vacation you would really like to have for when the debt is all gone, one that would really be worth waiting for.
well done!

Hi, Lauren--Am proud of your fortitude, and just look at those numbers!!?? The debt is dwindling fast--I only wish I had half of your tenacity. Have you thought about weekend get-aways instead of several trips/year? Saw in one of the women's mags that "girlfriend" weekend getaways are becoming more affordable and more popular, i.e., spa packages, luncheons, manicures, etc. Whiz.

Thank you! Unfortunately I have some past due items also, so I am just hoping to get to those before the collection people get to me. I feel super broke again. Always a crazy balance. The thing is I search for super cheap flights and my boyfriend is a pilot so gets free hotels. It ends up "seeming" cheap but then some things add up. I'll have to find some girlfriends to take a spa weekend with. sounds AWESOME. I live far from family and am new to this new area so I don't really know any woman well. I will definately keep that in mind. Thank you for the great advice as always.

No doubt! lol. My brother told me yesterday he had to train people in India. I was already on expedia looking for tickets to go see India so I could stay for free and visit while he was there. I was about to look for visa requirements and medical advice and then I saw the tickets were $1400. And it turns out its by teleconference from NY anyway! I jumped on that one the second I got his email. I need self control. I am getting there though. I never would have spent that kind of money even if I had it. And I don't own a cc so that wasn't an option.
