I came home tonight to some weird news that I didn’t like: My apartment rental office is no longer taking the rental payments anymore….I have to mail the checkout of state or do an online payment….not too happy with that because it sort of messes up my bill payment system, and I liked stopping into the office and know they HAD the check. Well, this place is changing, and I guess I’ve gotta get on the ball and MOVE: INSPIRATION!!!!!!!! I’m uncomfortable about mailing the rent check out of state. The notice came with all the warnings about making sure the payment gets entered in the system on time, penalties and fees…..well, I can’t control the mail in another state…..not happy. I’ll look at the website to pay online, but not too excited about it. Does anyone pay rent/mortgage on the web? This also puts pressure on to be sure the PC is always working…….Yeah, I’m not comfortable paying the rent online. I pay everything else online, I know, but this is IMPORTANT to pay right. I just don’t have a warm fuzzy on this one…………

I feel like I have to reexamine my whole budget and money system again. Hear my mantra: No spending, no spending, no spending…………..

I am not exactly sure by what method or when I am going to pay the rent this month (but I know I can pay it…..relief!), and I can’t pay early since my next paycheck is already spent………The emergency fund is still too small to buy anything but a stick of gum……This summer is becoming so dramatic with money and debt and jobs and medical care……….I just wanted a plain vanilla summer, but I don’t think I am going to get one.

Am I stupid or what? I am buying ice cream at work all the time…..just love the mint ice cream….I spent over $10 on it this week….I must be nuts…It could have been a snowflake…..I think it is nerves that I am just eating so much.

My debt total is so high right now I could scream. DYING FOR PAYDAY 4 days off!!!!! UGH…………….

Going to catch up on the charity work I skipped last night……I took SO out for dinner…I bought…I know we should have just stayed home, but…..AND I FORGOT MY EGGROLL at his place again!!!!! (I am sure he ate it which is fine….)

I visited SO this evening, and he is on vacation, but it is not a good one for him…lots of bad news and family strife for him…..so he was in a royally bad mood…………………All I kept thinking during the visit was how I wish we could both pay off our credit cards and MOVE…………………….so there is INCENTIVE AND MOTIVATION stronger than ever for us to pay off our debts and move ahead in our lives.

Going to try to breathe and deal with all this junk…….all this debt. Junk. It just was a tough day……weeks ahead don’t look so promising…….BUT, I am going to find a way to get thru it, cope……….heck, thrive?????????????? It’s all in the attitude………..!

Tomorrow is another chance……..gotta take it! Littlesbigs

Dear Littlebigs---Hugs to you and your SO.Hang in there. You're accomplishing a LOT with organizing, cleaning clutter, etc. Anyway----in answer to your question, DH pays the mortgage and his SUV truck payment online. Most of the bills we have are set-up online, and we've had no problems so far. I can review summaries, post-dates, payment options, etc. Got tired of wondering if DH mailed stuff, had it sitting in the car (mine or his), etc. Were you able to find out what percentage of renters are paying with these "new" options? Maybe you can try it different ways and see what works best for you. Ah, mint ice cream for $10?? That's a yummy treat you deserve once in awhile ;) Whiz.

Little-

I pay EVERYTHING online. There is not a single bill I mail or deliver and I have never had a problem. I pay mortgage, insurance, cc, and anything else. If their website doesn't take payments I use online billpay from CHASE to pay it. I was just commenting to a friend yesterday that I couldn't find a checkbook in my house if my life depended on it.

I personally think it feels MORE secure to pay bills/rent/insurance online. Don't have to worry about a piece of paper (the check) getting lost. I pay for everything with my bank's online bill paying feature, with a lot of recurring payments set up. Costs $4.95 per month (Compass) and I think it's worth every penny. I haven't hd any problems with them at all, only me forgetting something.

Hello,

I prefer to pay my mortgage and any important "need to pay to live" bills online. My online billpay is through my credit union, so if there is a mistake on their end and a check doesn't get sent out on time (never happened) then they will cover any late fees, charges, etc. Anyway, I have a mortgage through Wells Fargo, and they offer a bi-weekly payment plan. The mortgage amount is divided in two, then withdrawn on paydays automatically. As long as there is a paycheck coming in, the mortgage is paid on time every time.

Recently, our mortgage payment went down from $826 to $806 because the escrow account was re-evaluated. I applied for a homeowner's exemption on our property taxes, which will save us $250. The mortgage company is using 2005 property tax numbers, so next year around this time, I'll get another refund check as the escrow account is re-evaluated again. =) I have a nice $105 check to add to the snowball that I wasn't expecting!

Sincerely,
Lindsey Schocke
