Hi everyone!
I bank with Bank of America, and they have a program called "keep the change". They round up to the nearest dollar on everything you purchase with your debit card, and put the change in your savings account.
I have known about if for a while, but somehow I didn't want to enroll. I don't know why I didn't want to. I guess I was afraid that it would add up to more money I couldn't spend?! Does that make sense??!!!
Anyway, I enrolled today and feel good about adding to my savings in this snowflakey kind of way.
OH, and just to put this out there too.. this month I will finish paying off my credit card I charged my wedding dress, and maid of honor gowns on 4 years ago!!!
So my Credit card debt is just my Home Depot card, $320.00 and my
Rooms to Go $1500 (but no interest until 7/07--so I plan on paying that off before interest starts accruing.)
I thought about putting the extra money that I was paying my wedding dress..ect.. on these credit cards to get them paid off faster, but I have decided that I need to save up the 1/2 my salary for the 8 or 9 weeks I am off when we decide to have another baby. My job will pay 1/2 of 8 weeks, so I have to come up with the other half ( around 3k) to be able to survive on maternity leave. Once I can come up with that.. then we can plan another little one!!
one baby step at a time....
I hope eveyone has a debt free week!

We signed up for Keep the Change in November and I LOVE it. Love it, love it. It's so nice to see the savings account creep up w/o any effort on our part- that's in addition to our weekly deposit. I would have to guess that including their introductory matching period, we have probably gained nearly $200 in our savings account since November. Simply by rounding up (which is actually so painless you never see it's missing). Really, don't be nervous about it being money you can't spend- it's good to be saving! It's really so trivial- and just think it's money that you could transfer back and snowflake to those credit cards!!
