Best Buy Credit Card

I was planning on paying this off for good today anyway. Payment due date was 5/21, which is Sunday. I went online to make a payment (usually don't do that with them because their website is awful). And it says that if your payment is due less than 2 business days from now, you have to do a "rapid pay" or something, and they charge you $15.00 to do so. Are you kidding me? All of my other major credit cards like Visa, Mastercard, the other Visa....lol...etc allow me to make a payment that day and have it credited that day (sometimes it needs to be in by 3 pm or something) but they don't charge me for it.
I called Best Buy, and long story short ended up paying the $15.00 fee which they charge you to make a payment by phone too. I complained about the fee to her, and just ended up saying "fine, charge me the fee, I want the whole balance paid off". Nagging $112.40 plus the $15.00 fee. Then I told her to close my account and she asks me WHY. I told her to type in the box "because you charge $15 to make a payment the same day".
Urgh. Annoyed at having to pay the fee, but glad that account is closed now and being safe in the knowledge that I will never EVER open an account there again.

Best Buy stinks, in my opinion.
Good riddance!

Hello,
Congratulations on cancelling that card! I have a Chase card I'll be cancelling soon (as soon as I get a zero balance statement). One more debt bites the dust! Woohoo! I have several credit cards that charge a fee to make a payment 'same day'. Our mortgage company does too if you use their online 'easy pay'. Anyway, I use our online billpay system through my bank to make payments, and the billpay system *requires* that you schedule the payment 5 days in the future (to allow for mailing the check). So I've been "trained" by the billpay system to pay those credit cards off 5 days early. =)
Sincerely,
Lindsey Schocke
