Saved $20 a month last night

A phone company came around (a well known one) and was offering to switch companies and it was $20 cheaper a month, after 12 months, $10 cheaper, than what I am paying now. From time to time companies are always coming through. After grilling them with questions I realized it was legit, so I signed up. Going to call in a few days JUST to verify, but it is nice knowing I have saved $20!

That's awesome! I love it when you can find ways to cut down on fixed expenses.

Hello,

Our mortgage payment will lower by $20 next month for a year, because our escrow balance was larger than it needed to be. I will be so happy when I have paid off our mortgage and won't have to argue with the mortgage company about our escrow balance! I already have a sinking fund set up (with $5 in it as an initial deposit) in anticipation of that day, but it's still going to be a few years before that happens!

Anyway, I deposited the escrow refund check ($105) that they sent me after "evaluating" my escrow balance. Every year I get a refund check and every year I tell them that the balance is too high, but do they believe me until they "evaluate" it once a year? Nope. Grr.

Sincerely,
Lindsey Schocke
