Hi everyone, Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend. I have had a bad money week. Took car in for inspection and had to have tires. Then the next day we came home to find a puddle under our truck. The gas tank sprung a leak. Took it to the garage and they want 500 to put new one on so DH is going to do it. He really didn't want to but it will save about 300. Then went to the nursery for my flowers. Still not done with planning 50th annv. party for my parents. Seeing it is next Saturday I have to get it done. I had to dig into my camping fund for somethings but had to put new tires on cc. I havn't charged anything in about 3 months. I guess I will have to just be really careful this summer. I just don't want to deplete my camping fund. We did look at a solid camper and I told DH I can live with my pop up for a while more just as long as I can camp the pop up is my castle on wheels.

over 40 and tired

Hello,

I understand that it can be frustrating when unexpected car repairs and other expenses pop up. Do you have an emergency fund ($1000)? The gas tank leak and tire replacement would fall under "minor emergency" and would be covered by your emergency fund, rather than having to charge something on your credit card.

You mentioned that you've been planning a 50th anniversary. Did you set aside any funds for this ahead of time?

Sincerely,
Lindsey Schocke

Wow, I "feel your pain" Really. I hate unexpected expenses. Are you planting the flowers for your parents --- if so that's a gift that will keep on giving. And an anniversary like this is really once in a life time. Enjoy it no matter what.

Hi, Over 40--Sorry to hear about car problems. How is your anniversary party planning going? Were you able to divide up tasks so the cost isnt too bad? One thing about a summmer party---it is more inexpensive with fruits, etc in season, grilling, salads, etc. Have fun and enjoy it! Whiz.
