Big Hugs to you! I know how stressed you were already with the new house! That may really help that the boss is on DH's side. Surely they wouldn't want to bother hiring someone else when he's already trained.

Do you have any way of coming up with that $200 for the mortgage? Is there any money in your kids' savings you can borrow? Can you borrow it from family? I would take a cash advance from my credit card- anything to avoid being late with the mortgage.

Do you work? If not, Is there anyway to pick up something? I work a few evenings waitressing and we use that for all of our non-bill items (savings, debt reduction, clothes, emergencies)

Good luck and let us know, Nicki

Hi, LVH--I am sending hugs your way. Idea #1--Is this your first house payment? When DH and I refinanced, they sent a form that they would waive the first month (i.e., if lst payment due in September, you could have first payment due in October) and start the payments then. #2--on the Metlife snafu--can someone write a letter on your DH's behalf? I say this because the hospital that had attempted (for 8 months) to get things straightened out with the medical bill had exhausted all avenues with phone calls, etc., so they wrote an official letter to corporate (letterhead, timeline synposis, dates, calls made and to whom, etc.) and that seemed to get things rolling. #3--eczema---My hands---dermatologists, changing creams, shots, etc. Am trying FreeDermHC for eczema/dermatitis (www.FreeDerm.com) and it is helping with the blisters. #4--Do you go to a dermatologist or allergist? In order for your DH not to miss so much work, do they have a nurse practitioner you can see in a pinch? This literally saved me a few weeks ago---flexible hours, almost no waiting, they wrote prescriptions (MD approved), and I got right in (derm was booked solid). WHiz.

Yes, we will be able to come up with the $200.00 we are cashing out my tiny 401K and we should receive in about 5 days or so.

Hi Aravis - yes, he had to miss work because I had just started a new job and am on a probationary period until the 6 months are up.

Lvhunnie, I asked about you working because I wondered why DH took so many days off for the kids' health issues.

Yes, I took time off as well in February - I missed 6 full days of work because of mutliple hospital trips as well as flus.

LVH---Q for you---Did the MetLife folks mention why there was a reason for the delay in notification when your DH's benefits expired, and the confusion on the 12-month period? Perhaps other folks are having the same problem with the interpretation on their benefits. When I started asking around if other people at work were experiencing delays in payments to doctors, clinics, etc., there appeared to be a common problem (with the corporate office) in getting things addressed timely. I'm hoping they can write a letter on your behalf. Whiz.
