I'm wondering if any of you cut down on any bills. I would love to be able to save more. I'm pretty frugal, but lately i've been bad in terms of going out to eat and i really had to buy summer clothes. So I have realized that I really cant 'get rid' of the bills I have:

school loan payment
cell phone
cable
auto insurance
rent

I guess that's life...i'm just wondering how any of you have cut back on things and made life cheaper so to speak (:

The only areas really that you could cut down on is cable(we have basic basic for $13) and maybe auto insurance. Now that we have savings I am looking into upping our deductible since we have the money to meet our deductible and neither of us have had an accident or been hit for 10 years.....so chances are slim but I don't want to tempt fate...

Hi,

We have cut back in eating out (it becomes less tempting with time, especially, if you learn to cook a couple of nice meals at home). I shop around for auto insurance every couple of years to make sure I pay the lowest amt. And, we just downgraded to basic cable and it hurts :( Oh well, our savings on cable are approx. $35/mo, so it's worth it.

Hello,

When we began paying off debt, we cut down on several things:

No cable (never watch TV now and I don't miss it!)

No DSL (dialup was painful but free through netzero)

No eating out

No new clothes

If we wanted to buy new clothes, we had to sell our

Sincerely,

Hi, FH. Here's what we cut down on: l) Cable. We were paying over $100+/month for premium channels. For what, I dunno. Half of the movies are "old" or we've seen them (Star Trek, etc.). So now, it is $30 less. 2) Cell? I got rid of the internet accessability on the cell. Did I use it? No. 3)Cut out the DVD membership (we had two). That's about it for now. GOod luck to you. WHiz.
