Tell me if this sounds ok....

I owe 2(but really 3) mortgage payments by July 8th...2200.00 all together. I have about 1500.00 left to pay. I plan on paying half on monday by westren union and half on wed by westren union. The lady at CHase manhatten said they would NOT cancel the checks I have set up even though they wont clear. SHe said the only way they will is if I am curren bfore the first one would come out...she said they don't take canceling checks lightly. To which I explained that if I sent it westren union it would not only be cheaper for me it would also gaurentee the money being there and no checks bouncing. I was trying to be upfront and honest about the situation. I havent written any checks but because of the HUGE bank fees our checking account is no over 800 bucks overdrawn.....the bank is offering to refund the money so I am not in the whole any more. I will meet with them later today. Anyway, the lady at Chase was a real witch. Yelled at me and told me this was all my fault and that they wanted ALL OF THE MONEY( yes she yelled that part to me, as if I didnt understnad). She COMPLETLY disregaurded the info I had secured from another employee. She said he did it wrong... So I said, well I am going to have it all paid within the next 10 days and you have given me 30 to do so. She just was a witch. Anyway, I am VERY hopeful that I can get this all caught up, I see no reason why we can't because dh gets paid tuesday and my shows this week should be pretty good money makers.

So part 1 of plan : get house completly caught up.

Part 2...pay 1 month of my van payments, I can currently 45 days late on our van. 1 payment will make them happy.

Part 3...get bank account up to snuff.

Part 4.... start emergency fund.

Part 5...pay off credit card ($520....sounds good except the limit is only 300..lol)

Part 6...pay deposit on the beach house for vacation over christmas week.

If I can just get back on track. I find myself saying htat ALL the time....I have complete confidence by the end of June everything will be caught up and by July we will be looking really good.

Thanks everyone for your kind owrds, it really does help to have you hear to bounce ideas off of.

Sounds like you have a good plan in place.

HUGS sorry for the witch. I have found that the best defense against this is to ask for a supervisor. Most of the time they turn on the instant nice and suddenly become helpful.

Keep us posted.

Change of plans, they now say I owe 3 house payments instead of 2. I can file a formal dispute BUT it will nto even be reviewed until the account is current....current in THEIR eyes meaning I HAVE to make all 3 payments first....argggggggg. 2 I knew I could come up with....3 is much harder...but hopefully it will all work out...

What doesnt kill me makes me stronger (and grayer).

Hi, KC---Just an idea to throw out there for consideration. Will the mortgage company take a money order or certified check (is it cheaper? ). 2) I agree, to speak to a supervisor and hopefully the same person, "per our conversation, it was agreed that xyz would be paid by money order, certified check, etc." and send them a letter to that effect (keep copy of the money order, etc.). 3) Late fees? OD fees? I got overdraft protection on the account, and I have not had to use it in ages. I cannot tell you the times (in the years past) that the account was overdrawn, in the negative, etc., to the point they were going to close the account. Period. Once I got the OD protection, I have been hypervigilant about that not happening anymore. At one time, I had the savings account linked to the checking, and I would transfer funds to checking, if need be, and havent had anymore problems. With hugs, Whiz.
