When it rains it pours...literally!

I wonder each day what have done to deserve my recent streak of bad luck. Yesterday we had a tropical depression blow through and it flooded many of the roads in our area. The rain was torrential.

The area where I lived was particularly flooded and yes you got it, I had my engine stall and not want to start back up.

Last night, I paid $65 to have my car towed and I am not too sure how much the repair will cost. I hope it's not expensive. I also need my A/C charged, so at least that can be done. I trust my mechanic - so I know that he will be fair.

I just paid out $750 for the lawyer to defend my reckless driving with the improper code. They will still take it to court in my city, they don't care how many mistakes are on the ticket.

I also have a $100 vet bill this coming Monday morning, and I have professional pictures to be taken $85, and two bills I am already late in paying. I will just pay the late fees.

This is making it so I never want to step foot out of my house again! Is the Universe trying to tell me something? LOL

I hope things look up for you soon. i seem to think things come in threes...but that must not apply to you...you have a lot more than that going on. Will your auto insurance cover the cost of towing? Maybe you can at least get back a little bit of that money! hope things get better soon!

There is some theory out there that the universe will never throw more at you than you can handle.

All my best,

Hi, ATB--SOrry to hear about your vet bills. I went thru it with the one cat (kidney stones--several hundred dollars--which DH put on HIS cc, and they didnt reimburse all of it, but the PetCare pet insurance saved us (we have two cats). Hope your car is OK. You know what they say--things come in threes, so that means you will have a good July. Fondly, Whiz.

Hi ladies -

I just wanted to thank you all for taking the time to answer my post, and for all of your well wishes.

Danni - I liked your saying about the universe will never throw more at you than you can handle. I'm guessing that it thinks I can handle a lot! LOL

The bad news is my car's engine is ruined, so I will be without a car for a week or so. I forgot to get rental reimbursement on my insurance, so I am scrabbling around trying to see if anyone has a car to lend me. Now, I know I need to get that added on. Another not smart move on my part, I don't think I was aware of it. My girlfriend is going to see if her husband can lend me his truck. My aunt was fussing about lending me her old Jeep. Oh well.

I just actually rented a car from Enterprise. With tax it will run around $24 a day. Not great, but cheaper than a taxi. It's probably going to cost me a couple of hundred. Great. This is why I can never get out of debt. Life keeps happening.

So now the insurance company will take my car away, assess the damage and then hopefully take it back to my mechanics. My parents are going to try and help me financially again. I work in what is now appearing to be a dead end job. My boss does not know how to manage this company, and we are not getting enough sales. I bring in a lot of business, but we do not have the employees to fill the jobs. My commission was the lowest it has been in a year. So my boss doesn't even seem to care if I can make a living or not. I am over it.

So I am probably going to need around $700 for all of this mess.

What else can you do but smile?
