Sunday morning I had to go to work early....no fun. I am exhausted. I have to stay up late tonight to clean up the apartment because I have someone coming over to drop off a pet I am watching. I have not had time to clean up after the "flood" from last week. I was out and about today after I got out of work because I feel so CONFINED right now.........
After work today, I went out to the mall...............I was stressed out. I bought one thing for $9. I wrote a check for it. That was enough. The rest of time out I bought nothing else. I was tempted to buy a necklace, but I talked myself out of it. It was easy....easier than before. I also got a free drink that I had a coupon for.....
I have so much stuff here at home that I have not had a chance to sort thru yet. That is my summer project. But, I have SO MUCH STUFF. I am not going to charge more and add more to the debt pile while I have so much stuff to deal with. Finding TIME is my challenge right now. I am VERY short on time.
I am going to try to stay calm........this entire summer is going to be challenging. I was hoping for some peace, but I can't get it. This coming week will be especially challenging. I have to NOT let the stress affect my finances.....and my weight!!!!
I will have to keep breathing, keep swimming..................

Thanks for sharing the story about your uncle!
Just wanted to congratulate you for not getting the necklace, and for remembering to use the free drink coupon. I love free stuff.
I have a coupon for a free smoothie. I will grab it after work. Nice to have a treat at the end of the day.
Do you have any other options to relieve stress? Not that it's my place to say anything, but I wonder if the mall is a positive place to be?
I avoid the mall at all costs currently. I can't afford anything, and I get depressed seeing others shop when I have zero disposable income at the moment. Especially seeing teenagers shop! LOL They have more of a disposable income than I do. I just try to remember it was like that for me too as a teenager. My earnt money went to wants, not needs.
Do you get 15 minutes a day to tackle something in your home? I am in the same place. I need to get my home office sorted out and I avoid tackling it. Maybe we should be a support to one another and encourage each of us to get on with those tasks that stop us from spending $$$.
Let me know. Beach
Hello Aravis,
I understand where you're coming from with the DVD Burner. We have a shelf full of movies / DVDs that we have watched but not more than 2-3 times. Yet, DH bought a DVD burner and used it maybe 5 times. UGH! Anyway, he tends to make one electronics purchase a year that's about $100 or so. When I see the "itch" to buy some new toy coming, I try to head it in a direction toward something he will actually use, like a new book (cheaper) or something else he needs.
So far, his MP3 player purchases (they die every 3-4 years and we replace it) and portable USB memory drive (size of a pack of gum) are used daily and were not very expensive purchases. When I direct him toward a practical purchase that he will use, the "itch" to buy "geeky electronic goodies" starts to fad.e
Sincerely,
Lindsey Schocke
