Armed with a new plan thanks to Quicken!

After reading so many success stories on here, I realize I just need someone to tell me what to do. I went back to quicken.com and entered my new debt totals and new APRs since I was able to get lower rates recently. Now I feel better because I do have a plan.

I think I'll actually end up feeling obligated to pay less on my CCs than I have been with this new schedule. I've been haphazardly snowflaking every card. Quicken recommends the Dave Ramsey way, actually. The extra money I've been throwing at all these different cards I'll put into an efund and then snowflake the target card.

Hmmm....where have I heard all this advice before? Seems I am finally ready to hear it.

Debt free date: March 2010!!

I adore Quicken If you can I would see about going to Ebay and maybe picking up last years copy for peonuts Sometime you can do that.

I think that every one should do their own thing but when you are targeting a bill go for the one that will pay you back the most. That is not always the littlest bill.

I know I preach this all the time but you really want to make the most money back for your dollar. So you got more money to snowflake.

This is true of any issue you face.

It's okay to jump...you have wings!

Good for you!

You know, I agree with Dave Ramsey when he says 80% of finance is behavioral and emotional.

You can do this! Sometimes having a plan is the most important step (and it takes off SO MUCH PRESSURE)

Thanks, Sue!

That means a lot. Your own debt payoff is tremendous inspiration. You're right. If you could pay off twice my debt total in only 15 months, I can do this!

Thanks for staying on the board to move us all forward.

Bex:

INDEED!

My new plan is right in with my bills. I just mark them off when I pay them, like any other bill. No guessing how much to round up and all that.

Thanks for the kind words,

Dee

Thanks, Danni! I know you recommended quicken before. I'm sure I got the link from one of your posts. If you have it handy, maybe you could post it again. A lot of people use quicken software, but this tool is absolutely free (important to note).

We also celebrate every $1,000. It keeps the momentum going.

You know the real program the 2008 Quicken has that in it to and a saving program and bunch of other things. Personally I have had some form of Quicken for about 10 years or more. It is wonderful program. You should invest in it On line it is only about 30.00 odd dollars and it is worth every penny if not more.

I know the web site is free and all but you can put in all your bills in accounts then when your bills come in just add on the interest and take off your payment Quicken gives you a running figure of all your bills all the time.

It also figures out how much percentage wise you spend on things a month by what you put in your checking account ledger. And it has a budget thing in it too. Now that is something I tried to use but I could not get it to work for me but if you have just one checking account it would do wonders in telling you if you are over spending on anything.

Good luck with your new plan of action

Me I am doing so good in the debt free thing. I just added on about 7 months and a few thousand to my ticker not good but there is nothing I can do about it.
