I took the bus to work today, and it was more crowded than usual.

Funny, it's pasta and sauce here too.

I thought of you at the end of my day today; at lunch time I made the mistake of going into the mall and discovering that the fabric store, that has moved to a different spot in the mall while there long-time space is reno'd, has a 70% (yep, seventy percent) off sale on a selection of decent fabric and the thread I like for sewing.

I asked if they would hold a bolt til the end of the day, and I went back and bought the rest of it, and a metre of another fabric. And 9 spools of sewing thread. Oops. I bought 4.3 metres of fabric (that's a shade under 4 yards I think)and all that (really decent brands) of thread for $17 and change.

Then I went to the drug store where I knew the good body moisturizer was on sale for 1/2 price. It wasn't exactly the one I want, but it had a $2 off coupon. And then Olay facial cleanser were $5.99 (normally $15 or so), and I had a $2 coupon for them too. Add the manicure stone I've been wanting since I realized I could get one in a drug store AFTER the last time I forked out $65 for a pedicure, a jar of eye cream (on sale, of course, and it's actually okay), and two boxes of tampons (on sale, of course) and that was just under $27.

Guess who never put her money into envelopes for the month. That would be me. I did write out categories and assign amounts to them, so now I have to go back and subtract that off of them...and guess who's spending money envelope will be almost empty for the rest of the month...oh, yes, three and a half more weeks and I have spent most of my spending money amount.

Now, I have considered toiletries as listed to be a "spending money" item. I guess I consider them frivolous (but my face feels so much nicer with higher end cleanser and eye cream...)...perhaps I should create a (smallish) category for toiletries? Or would that just be a justification? Anyone want to express an opinion on that?

I had to chuckle at this (and the replies) because I too am having PASTA AND SAUCE!!! Although, I am getting fancy by throwing in a left over hamburger that I made two weeks ago, never ate and threw in the freezer. Voila . . . meat sauce.

Its sad that these are the things I get excited for .
