1. List all the jewelry you are wearing right now.
My wedding ring and engagement ring. I'm not big on jewelry. I'm too lazy to remember to put it on.
2. How many weddings and graduations are you invited to or going to this year? Are you feeling financial pressure concerning gifts for these occasions? Are you turning down invitaions because you can't afford to go? Are you having a wedding or graduation? Do you have expectations concerning the gifts you hope to receive?
No weddings. One high school graduation party so far, maybe another. I'll probably go to both. Both of the girls are going to college in the fall and I'm debating between buying them gift cards to somewhere on or near campus, Target, or trying to find some kind of cute, but useful present for them.
3. How did you feel paying your rent or mortgage this past month? Dd you have the money to pay it, or did you have a problem with it? Are you worried about next month's mortgage payment or rent? Are you making chnages in your spending habits to be sure you have these payemnts?
Rent was fine. I get my second monthly paycheck on the last day of the month and rent is due the first week of the month, so we haven't had a problem with it. What I am worried about is possibly buying a house in the next couple months. We've been saving for a modest down payment instead of concentrating on debt reduction. If all works out the way we hope it will, we'll actually have a smaller mortgage payment than our current rent.
1. My high school class ring (dorky, I know, but a lot of us still wear them from my school) and an anniversary ring DBF gave me last year.
2. Only two weddings this year. One of them is DBF's old friend, and he's getting married somewhere that requires significant travel so I had to decline because it just wasn't in my budget, but DBF sorta has to go. For the other one it's my old friend, but thankfully we're getting a free ride with friends to that one and we happened to have the "perfect" wedding gift on hand for that one, so not feeling so much financial pressure for that one.
3. Rent payments are ok, I just wish I had more money to contribute to savings! Darn student loan payments...
1. List all the jewelry you are wearing right now.
I am wearing a gold necklace and earrings.

- I was invited to a destination wedding in Mexico during this upcoming week, but I declined to attend. Of course the main reason I turned it down is because I have too much debt, and paying it off is a higher priority. Also I just returned from Europe a week ago on business and I feel like staying home for a bit.

- My second paycheque each month pays the rent and other bills, so I don't fret about the rent.

1. List all the jewelry you are wearing right now. ~ Pearl earrings, pearl necklace, my wedding ring, a diamond ring that was my late mother's & grandmother's, a sapphire ring that was also my mother's, and a watch.

Are you turning down invitations because you can't afford to go? Are you having a wedding or graduation? Do you have expectations concerning the gifts you hope to receive? ~ Just one wedding, which we're not going to. We did send a present - it's one of my employees so I couldn't get out of that! And I have a family reunion weekend coming up, which is going to cost several hundred dollars that I'd rather not spend on that, but in the interests of family harmony, we're going.

Are you making chnages in your spending habits to be sure you have these payemnts? ~ I pay everything possible via automatic withdrawal (not even online bill pay - I want it taken out automatically so I don't miss it). I get paid the last day of the month, and my mortgage is taken out the next day (I did the same thing with my DMP). I want to be sure my house is paid for before anything else. That way I never worry about it, never even think about it. I do the same thing for my car loan, insurance, phone, electric, DirecTV, everything!
