I am looking at the weekly grocery ads this morning and thinking I'm going to have to consider changing the way I do menu planning.

Peg

I was reading this book "America's Cheapest Family" You can get it in the library Their thing was based a lot on food. What they did is they started with a weeks menus. Then the next week repeated it and added a day to it. They also bought a freezer. We bought one 6 months ago and they do save you a lot of money. Paid about 355.00 with delivery charge from BEST BUY

Each week they added a couple of days to the menu until they had a full month. But one thing they did say is if you can hold off a day or added a day between shopping trips that it helped. Stay out of the store saves you money. I didn't do the menus but I did try the stay out of store thing and it cut our food bill down by a lot. I added it up and it was a about a 50.00 saving a month.

Tell you one thing not to do is take pictures of the signs in the grocery store. Husband did that and got some really funny looks. If you want to do that write the food down. I was

Great idea for a post, Peg!

Since it's now just DH and me, I cook for either 2 or sometimes 4.
