A week or so ago I was surfing around some of the boards and I found this link to a board that are fans of Dave Ramsey. So today I had some time after I finished making some curtains for the office and I decided to check it out.

Them guys over there are having about the same problems we are over here.

There was this one woman talking about high interest credit cards and how she was trying to get the interest down.

Mary Ann,

Just so you can sleep at night, I thought I'd post. ;)

I had a card closed due to inactivity. I too was worried that it'd show up as "closed by grantor" instead of "closed by consumer". But in actuality, it shows the latter. I have talked to a few people, who have had the same thing done to them, and it shows the same. So, at least you can sleep better knowing that most likely, it will report as "closed by consumer". Oh, and no, the company won't reinstate it, they'd have to apply again (I'm angry about that, because it was one of my long-term CC's).

I'm not big on censorship in any way shape or form either, and found it strange they do it on that board. But, yeah, that's their perogative. Just like we have a TOS here, right?

Lastly, for the mortgage question (since I've been in the middle of this for the past few years). FHA isn't score based, but you do need credit HISTORY and other things to get a mortgage. I'd say, all other mortgages ARE score based. Especially in this market,

Just to answer your question, Dave Ramsey lives in Tennessee.

I have been thrilled to have discovered Dave Ramsey's system.
