If you've put together a budget of all monthly expenses and monthly income, and you have enough to put a roof over your head, utilities, food and clothing and other mandatory expenses and still have a gap, there is little doubt that you need help.

Ladies,

thank you so much for your responses...someone listed Dave Ramsey and yes I love him..the problem with that is right before we were about to start his program my husband lost his job and we were without income for at least two months...than as you can imagine everything just went downhill...I understand what he says about the car that it is easier to owe only 7,000.00 than 23,000.00 but how do you sell a car if you can't afford to pay the 7,000.00 to get the tittle? how do I do this?? my credit bills aren't outrageous and I could of dealt with it but now with less of an income we are drowning...my school loans are basically another car payment also which I can't afford....but you can't get rid of school loans...yes somebody was saying I should be making more money and I have in my field...I have increased my income in the year about 10,000.00 but than since my husband'd income went down we ended up losing...like I said hopefully I can increase again about 8,000.00 in the next

one more thing i forgot to add was that we have already stopped using credit cards we stopped using them not to long before my husband lost his job so that is already a done deal. we are on a cash only basis and i guess that is hard to since before if we wanted anything or were short for any reason we would just put things on our cards....

BK really won't help you much. Yes, it will get rid of your cars-but then you have nothing to drive.

There are 2 suggestions I can make.

1. request a hardship forebearance on both of your student loans. That will usually buy you 6 months or longer

2. Look at buying private insurance for your step daughter.

Hello and {{{{HUGS}}}} to you.

Personally, I tend to agree with not heading right toward bankruptcy.
