1. Favorite candy: Swedish Fish! Favorite magazine: Cottage Living. Favorite Children's book: Not sure....They aren't really children's books, but I am re-reading the Harry Potter series this summer and I'm enjoying those all over again.
2. I've always wanted a name like "Celery" or "Bunny". One of those kind of odd names that really rich people have. (Weird, I know).
3. I talk about finances a lot, especially with women and with teens just starting out with financial planning. The big thing I tell them is to pay themselves first, and pay themselves 20% right from the start. I talk about CC debt with some people; but, not everyone wants to hear that they can wait on a new TV or the latest gizmo, so that doesn't always get the reception that saving 20% does. Most people get pretty excited about that.
What is your favorite candy? >> Maple sugar candy or Good & Plenty
What is your favorite magazine? >> Reader's Digest
What is your favorite children's book? >> Where the Sidewalk Ends
If you could change your first name, what would you change it to? >> Elizabeth
Has your debt journey taught you anything that you have been able to apply to other things in your life? >> Setting goals, splitting them into manageable chunks, and then accomplishing them.
Is there a positive side to your debt journey experiences? >> I no longer suffer from the deadly sin of Envy over other people who have more or better "things" (Now if I could just get rid of Gluttony and Sloth!)
Have you shared your new found wisdom wth anyone outside this board? >> Sometimes, but not as often as I should, I guess.
