Just curious as to how bad gas prices are in the different areas of the country.

I live in British Columbia, Canada...and yesterday the price of gas varied between $1.429 to $1.450 per *litre* (approx. $5.716 to $5.8 per gallon).

Today is the start of the carbon tax that our stupid government has implemented in an effort to (supposedly) cut carbon emissions by making so we can't afford to drive any more...the government rhetoric is that the tax on gas is supposed to "encourage" people to think twice before driving unnecessarily. Well, I heard a comment on the radio a few days ago that most people have already eliminated unnecessary driving already. I've already quit driving unless I have to, and I did that months ago when gas was still under $5 a gallon. This is really hurting me, financially and emotionally and socially, because I live in a rural area where I have no access to public transport or any sort of transport other than my car.

So now, thanks to my awful government, the tax is making the cost of gas $1.50 a litre, so over $5.80 a gallon. Thanks for letting me vent, this is very tough for me.

We are in Kentucky and the prices around here are around 4.19 but we have been filling up with the Kroger credit card so we have been paying .10 to .15 less then

It's been $4.35-$4.55 in the NYC metro area for several weeks now.

I have always been insensitive to the price of gas, until it went rapidly over $4 a gallon. Since then I've been slightly more careful about not driving unnecessarily, but I don't suppose I've cut back much. I do think about the fact that every 25 miles I drive costs me about $4.50 in gas, and I never thought about it that way at all.

Hi, ladies. Well, gas here is $4.59, 69, 79. Diesel $4.99/gallon. In some independent dealers (which are going under BTW unless they get $$ for their coffee, cigarettes, coke, etc in attached stores), the prices are going up and away--$4.79, 89, 99.

In Rochester, NY (Western NY) unleaded gas is $4.179 at DeltaSonic and Hess, but I've seen it at a Mobil station and an independent station at $4.359. I'm lucky that I live 4 miles from work and 3 miles from my night school, but I have a friend who drives 120 miles round trip to work every day. I don't know how she manages.

I live on Galveston Bay outside of Houston, Texas. I'm paying $3.77/gallon, but if I use my Krogers (grocery) frequent shopper card, it's $3.67/gallon.
