When I was working for an attorney that did some collection work we had some clients that would send up 2 or 3 checks all post dated for the next few months.
My suggestion would have been to pre-write out the checks ahead of time, seal them in an envelope and deduct that amount from your checkbook. But not send the checks just yet. That way the money is OUT of your checkbook (according to your head) and you will see that as money gone - not spendable. I am not sure if this would work for you but it works for me.

What about setting up auto pay through your bank rather than through the companies that don't offer auto withdrawal?
I believe that anyone can cash a post-dated check, regardless of the future date written on the check.

Don't Bank people do not pay attention to dates on checks that much So you could end up with a ton of bounced checks.
