During the summer, we eat out lunch once a week.
I am definately a lunch maker! This has been my biggest challenge in the debt reduction journey because I used to buy lunch every day! I have saved so much this way! I am also working on "eating clean" and this has helped so much!
The easiest way is too make extra of whatever you had the night before and simply pack it up (although this may not work if you don't have a microwave at the office)
This is what I do:
1) Once a week I make a big salad with cut up vegetables and put them in 5 containers. Then each morning I only add some low fat cheese

I generally walk home for lunch & eat leftovers or a sandwich.
over 40 and tired
I usually have snacks in my desk or bring them like nuts, yogurt, and granola. I also keep soup packets in my desk. Normally, I can resist, but a lot of times, my co-workers ask me to go to lunch, and it's hard to resist.
Sometimes I'll take something non-perishable like a PB&J sandwich and carrots so I don't even have to refrigerate it.
I do think having something available with you is a good idea. That way,
I was reading the posts - and lunch seems to be a big thing for everyone that works in our office - except for me.
New here!
What we do (it's just my BF and me) is usually make enough of dinner to save for lunch and take that to work. We also will cook large batches of chili, stews, and other soups that we like and freeze individual portions in tuppeware. That way, if for some reason we don't have leftovers from dinner or don't feel like eating that again, we can just grab a tuppeware from the freezer. We grab some fruit and a yogurt or something, and there you go! Healthy and cheaper lunches! We've saved a ton this year doing that and also I'm sure have cut back on calories as well! It works for us because we have a microwave and fridge available at our jobs.
Also, when I was a kid, my mom would do similar things when we were little. She and my grandmom would make things we loved like pigs-in-a-blanket and freeze them. All the kids who had to buy lunch always wanted our lunches instead! When we got a little older (like 10 or so), she would have each of us make our own sandwich the night before. I never bought lunch at school!
I only work Mon, Wed & Fri and those days I usually have a lean cuisine. Or some kind of frozen meal. Then I just eat chips or pretzels or whatever is in my "snack" drawer at work. On major perk of my job in this office is there is ALWAYS food. Someone had a lunch meeting and left bagels in the kitchen for everyone to share. People make cupcakes, brownies and treats to eat. I always find plenty of food at work.
On my days home w/the kids I just eat soup or whatever we have on hand.
