I am so frustrated!!! In the past two months, my property tax has gone up by $40 a month, my car insurance has gone up by $2 a month and my water bill has gone up by $35 (every two months!)

I came home from work today to find the gas bill was $156!!!! Normally its $97!! Now this is the end of the billing cycle so part of it is adjustments (we are on budgeted billing) but with the price increase for the year

Don't give up yet!!! It could turn around, and you could be debt-free end of year.

Don't let these set backs stop you from working at your goal to be debt-free. Even if it does take you a bit longer, you will reach your goal if you keep it in sight.

Hang in there Bex, yes these are setbacks, but don't lose sight of your goals. It may well take you an extra couple of months or you may perhaps get a great surprise and find extra money to finish your goal on time or sooner.

Vent all you want, but don't lose sight of all your efforts ok! We are here for you.

Don't give up! Call around!!! I just called our phone, internet & Cable people (all one company) and they told me about a new service that is the SAME cost as our service now but I can get a $100 rebate for switching over. Course, someone has to come to my house for 4 hours to install this but who cares? Plus, there is no installation fee. So just by making this phone call although my monthly bill didn't drop (which is why I called them originally to see if I could drop any services or if they had any special deals going on now) I got $100 cash rebate coming in the mail.

Don't get discouraged. Chip away as you can on your debt. You are doing great and these small setbacks are NOT your fault and cannot be controlled.

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts! It really helped me to calm down. Tuesday night was NOT good. I ended up having an anxiety attack in the middle of the night. I was by myself and it scared the crap out of me (I've had this happen before so at least I knew what it was!) I took a sick day yesterday and it was just what I needed. I slept all day and cleared my head.

So, I have done my budget to the end of the year. I estimated high for all the bills (so if they go down its a built in snowflake) and this has helped somewhat. October is a 3 check month which reallly doesn't mean much for me since I pay my mortgage biweekly, but it does mean that the first paycheck is about $60 higher (because I pay union/ med fees out of one, and bus pass out of another so the third in a month has extra on it). I also don't pay property taxes in Nov/ Dec so this has helped a lot!

So at this pace, assuming that I don't get any of the money that is owed to me it will take me 7 months to payback the CC, which is 4 months later then hoped. But, 7 is better then none! Wish me luck!

Hi, Bex---Ah, dont loose sight of the prize. You are almost there. On the gas thing--is it a temporary blip (i.e., A/C, fan usage, etc.) or a real increase? Whiz.)
