On another board that I frequent they were discussing having a high amount of credit card debt.

I agree with other posters - it really depends on the payer's resolve, decision to stop charging, and ability to get a 2nd job, or better job, etc.
All my best,

Eh, I also thinks it depends on the person and what caused them to have the debt in the first place. For example, if what caused the person to get the debt was temporary, like being a laid off or underemployed for awhile, illness, even trying to raise kids through tough times, getting a degree, etc. then yes, I think once the disability has gone away, the person can pay back the debt. IF however the debt was caused by a person's desire to live beyond their means and the person never comes to term with living within their means, then I think it would be hard to pay it off because they'll always keep adding to the debt, or at least, for as long as they can. I think it's hard, and requires lifestyle changes- a new, higher paying job or a 2nd job if you don't want to change your lifestyle, or really tightening your budget and drastically changing your lifestyle.
I don't think that it is true at all!
