Did you ever have the Mt. Dew Slurpee from 7-Eleven? It's so refreshing in the summer time. I think it even saved my life once when I was overheated and dehydrated.

If you take your cup back to the McDonald's counter they DO FREE REFILLS. This is totally not advertised, but they do do it. I don't know if you have to buy a meal with that drink, but I have asked several times and they always do a free refill. Now if only Starbucks would do the same, I'd be set ;))

Carolyn,

Do you have paraffin, and if so, how do you heat it safely at home? I have a block of it but in the salon where I used to work they kept it in a slow cooker type thing. I don't have one of those and have never figured a good system for heating at home.

Yep, you're right about the DSL.

I have broken my pop habit many times, I used to keep a 12 pack of cans (Coke) in my car trunk always...now I seem to have fallen into this pit of desperation known as the vending machine. $1.50 a time. Oops. My work is very busy and stressful, so there is an obvious correlation. I have started making my coffee at home and now rarely buy at the coffee shop (because I don't drive by it any more on my way to work).

All my utilities are included in my rent but I never bother to watch tv.

Paying for my last pedicure (that I didn't enjoy) broke that habit, but I do still like waxing...normally I do that all at home (I bought a wax pot and lots of wax from the beauty supply catalog when I worked in a salon), but sometimes still go to the salon as a treat.

Cable & internet.

Our bundle package expired last month, we had phone, cable & internet through Comcast for $99/mo and that lasted 12 months well it was over and the bill went to $140/mo.

Taking it day by day...

We used to have the triple play bundle with Comcast too. It's a good deal until it expires - then? not so much.

When our promotional period ended we dropped the phone (we weren't using it enough to justify the money each month for it.. we have cell phones with more than enough minutes each month for what we need). Then we dropped the tv because we realized we could get a WAY better deal with satellite. We got twice as many channels with a dvr for a lot less money. We did keep their internet but we do pay full price for it (which is $62/month).

However, we end up getting a better deal with the satellite and full price internet then we did with Comcast post-promotional deal.

Dial up in this area is expensive. Regular phone service is $71 a month. And most dial up is $20/month. DSL isn't available to us.

Ours is cable/netflix. I'm thinking about suspending netflix since we have all the premium channels on comcast, but it's hard b/c we like to watch a lot of TV series on DVD. We're already down to the 1 movie a month deal on netflix.

Sigh. That's $130 a month, and includes phone/cable/internet/DVR. I don't really feel that bad about it, because there are so many other frivolous things that we NEVER do -- eat out, go to movies, clubs.
