Ok - so I don't have kids, but I certainly remember the back to school maddness that preceeded every school year.

All my best,
Danni

I don't have a specific plan but I do know I'm going to have to figure something out.

Carolyn needs MAJOR clothes shopping since she no longer has to wear her brace.

As I've shared before, my kids attend a Lutheran School. Every year they do a fundraiser where you can order the next year's supplies all at once, packaged neatly, for about what you could buy the items for regular price at the store. I think my 2nd grader's box cost around $40. I bought it in March, it was delivered in May. I love love love the supply boxes because I don't have to run around to three different stores looking for a certain type of pencil! To me, the convenience is more than worth the price.

Other than those supplies, my kids don't need anything right now. I wait and buy fall clothes until it's actually fall :) because who knows how fast they'll grow in the next few months. I buy shoes as they need them (worn out or out grown, which ever comes first).

My kids go back August 27th--we're getting excited to get back into the school routine!!

This is a good exercise for me b/c I haven't figured it all out yet:

1. Uniforms here, which are already paid for.

2. Sneakers, $30; shoes, $30, already picked out a pair from Lands' End.

3. folders and a few other supplies. I checked her art supply box from last year and it is virtually untouched so that's a huge savings.

The big thing will be tuition, which we pay year round: $240 a month. We applied and were denied for financial aid.

So, honestly, I don't think it will be that bad this year.

Jordyn has yet to have the awaited growth spurt, so clothing wise she is still pretty good, plus we still have 4 pairs of Abercrombie jeans her stepmom got on ebay for her last fall that are just now starting to fit her.

I'm new here, but this is a topic that's definitely on the top of my mind. :) This Friday and Saturday is the "tax free weekend" in our state, so the stores will be ugly. I thought I would have to join that mess but after cleaning out the drawers it seems my son has 7 sets of uniform clothes and a few sets of casual clothes. He also has way too many shoes, so I think I'm actually down to replacing

We have a tax free weekend also, I am not sure when it is, but I have found in past years, even with the 8 1/4% tax we would save, the frenzy of it all just isn't worth trying to go out and actually shop during that time.
