If so, what is your plan of action?

I have the great fortune of living in a no-sales-tax state.

All my best,

Yes, it's a big weekend for everyone. It's also a great time go buy clothes, too. Too bad it has to be a special occasion and not an everyday thing!!

Right. It's a great time to get a new computer/laptop and stuff like that, electronics-wise. I know Apple is participating, too. Here are their rules for my state: http://www.apple.com/retail/taxholiday/georgia.html

I don't need anything, and when I don't need anything, I don't shop, no matter how good the deals are and what incentives the government or the stores want to offer. So, not for me!

Can someone fill me in on the details of this no tax weekend? I haven't heard anything about it. I'm in OH. I have family members who shop in PA because they are close enough and they don't have a sales tax. TIA

Our tax free weekend in Texas isn't until August 15-17.

I wish Michigan did this. It would be awesome! Unfortunately, they do not (the state is in too much trouble and the state needs every penny from the sales tax I'm a thinkin').

Do they generally do this around back to school time? Or is it something that happens more often during the year?

Brandee,

OT: sorta but anyway, Walmart has awesome deals on school supplies right now. I know you work there, I think, so you may already know but with your employee discount, you could do wonderful on school stuff. Also our Walmart has boys tshirts cheap too, like $3 on clearance. I bought my ds 3.5 a generic underarmour shirt long sleeve there for $3. He will be at many ball games this fall so that'll help keep him warm. GL and it looks like OH doesn't have those tax free days either. But I'm not too far from PA to go there to shop for school clothes without sales tax but w/ gas prices, I don't think I could justify it, KWIM? I'm about 2.5 hours, maybe 3 away.
