I have been a member of ivillage for a long time.

I am focusing on reducing my debt now so that I can be debt free. We have a mortgage, and truck payment those are fine. It is the stupid bills...student loans and credit cards, also line of credit. I owe a lot less than my hubsand does. The things that I notcie I waste money on are bank fees, and monthly interest.

I do have a horse but that is my enjoyment. I paid for him in cash, and my horse trailer. I cut back on my horse show expenses so that I have less money paying out. With diesel being 4.69 a gallon it has to be worth going up there. I do the local 5 minute awaay shows over 2 hours.

My goal is to be debt free, and convince hubby to do it also.

What I have done to reach that goal: Paid off one credit card; didn't renew magazine subscriptions, stopped going out to lunch(slacked on that last week), took away extras on phone, and pay cash.

I still need to convince hubby we don't need 3 premium channels, reduce atm fees, pay off 24% interest credit card. I was in denial for a long time about my financial health and now I am better because my credit suffered. Hubby has about 15k in credit card debt, and his truck is paid off.

Hello there! I also have a horse. She eats a lot. LOL. (I've had her for 17 years...she's earned her retirement with me). I just posted my re-intro ("hey ya'll") down in the other section. We're also guilty of those stupid bank fees -- at one point it was $600-$700 a week for a two-three month period. UGH. We're slowing paying everything off. We still end up with bank fees sometimes, but we're getting there. I need to keep the utilities caught up so we're not paying late fees anymore. (I'll let those go before credit items).

I just wanted to say hello. I noticed we had a couple of things in common! =c) I hope to see you post often!
