OT: Bridemaid Dress

I got my bridesmaid dress today, it was shipped to me (another vent some other day). I just tried it on and it's 2 sizes to small. There is no way my big ol' booty is fitting in that dress. They are closed tomorrow, so I'm going to have and call them first thing on Wednesday. The wedding is 26 days away.

I have mention that I hate weddings.

I hate expensive weddings. When my sister got married, my parents pulled out all the stops. We're talking string quartet, live band,

Oh, what a lovely lady you are. Your husband is so lucky.

Your wedding sounds enchanting, romantic and you had your family all around you. How relaxed.

Not having a big, crazy debt load, must be so nice to look back on. I've known people who could not heat their homes, thus resenting their mate, after the debt of an out of control wedding hung over them. That just can't be easy on newly weds.

I like an old fashion, home made wedding any day.

Thank you for your kind words back to me Kelly.

Thanks, Audrey! I think I'm pretty lucky too.

Thank goodness it never occurred to me to go into debt for my wedding! I'll bet I would have if it had occurred to me, LOL.

Topic for another thread, since this one has been thoroughly hijacked from poor Jenny: "do you plan to pay for your children's weddings and/or give them a down payment for a house?" Hmmmm.....

For some reason, the part of our wedding vows that both DH & I *really* remembered was, "I will love you and honor you all the days of my life." Ever since the wedding, when my husband does something I think is stupid or annoying, and I give him one of THOSE looks, he grins and says, "For ALL the days of your life!"

Looks like a fun day! Love the polka dot theme. :)

Amazingly, $5000 in 1990 bought: shrimp & prime rib dinner *and* 5-hour open bar at a resort hotel on a lake (my dad couldn't believe the whole dinner for 70 people came to under $3200), limo for $175, a $900 wedding dress plus accessories, and 3 hotel rooms for 2 nights for my family! Those were the days, huh? Nowadays my young colleagues tell me they pay $3000 just for the photographer!
