Direct Deposit Advances

Does anyone do this? We have our paycheck directly deposited to our checking accounts and we can take an advance before the next payday. They charge a fee of course, but lately this has been saving our butts. I want to stop. DH does it more than I do. I'm hoping we will be better off financially after MMI's help, and I need to work more I guess!
Anyone else in this trap?

Yep, I am in that trap. In the past, I was transferring from my line of credit a day or two before payday. I managed to go throught August without doing it, and that was a huge accomplishment. But, just a few days ago I transferred money into my chequing from my line of credit. I'm really trying to get on top of it. I'm not loosing a lot in interest, but it is an indicating that I am spending more than I want to and than I am planning. I'm finding it a really hard thing to break. Good luck, and let us know how you are progressing.

In the pass we did a lot of dipping into credit cards to make it but then I got this idea of adding a few pennies to each of the checks I wrote. Then leaving it in the checking account as a buffer.
