I agree that ING is great to use as a savings account. One word of caution, though--it can take a couple of days for the money to transfer to your checking account. For this reason, we keep $200 in our bank savings account because it can be transferred and accessed immediately, we keep our larger savings in our ING account. The savings was going really really slowly until I finally set up automatic deposits. Now $100 a month is automatically sent to the ING account on the date I have selected. It makes saving a no-brainer, especially if seeing "extra" money in your checking account is a license to spend! (speaking from experience!)
