Hi Everyone,
Nine months ago, my DH was laid off when the company he was working for closed their doors, the employees showed up to work and it was closed, we lost insurance, no employee packages, nothing. I

First off, I am sorry you are being harassed and NOBODY deserves that kind of treatment.
Next time they call IF you answer the phone (I would get caller ID and only answer if it showed up as a phone number) then you IMMEDIATELY ask for a supervisor. Bypass whomever called you in the first place. Once you get a supervisor write down their name and then continue the conversation. You are doing your best and God bless you but don't take that crap from anyone.
If anything else happens and you are getting harassed from the supervisor then you have name reference to call the corporate office.
Oh my goodness! I can' t believe someone could be so rude and heartless.
I don't have any advice to give you since I am in Canada and I imagine things are different. I'll tell you what I do when it comes to rude callers or customer service people (*knock on wood* I've never had to deal with creditors)
If I were you, I would keep a pen and paper beside the phone, and everytime they call, record every detail. Specifically, agree to nothing, admit to nothing, and answer every question wth "can I speak to your supervisor?"
Just a thought. Are you SURE is the CC company company and not a collection agency? Its possible if they closed the account they also sold it? Just a thought . . .

I don't even respond when collectors get rude.
Lord that is one of the worst things I have ever heard.
