Hi Robyn,

(HUGS)

How about saying something like:

"Yes, maybe we can start saving for our next car once we pay off our debt."

Also, does he have his own 'ticker'? Maybe if he has a strong visual????

Or when he talks about incurring more debt, perhaps you could pay some bills together. That one always stops me in my tracks. When I get the urge to charge, I pull out my check book and start paying bills, it sobers me. It extinguishes my urges.

HTH!!! More power to you!!

Hi, Audrey!

The comment about saving for one after the debt is paid off is a good one.

I support your need to wipe out your debt and not wanting to incur another car loan.

Financial gurus say Americans are buying cars too often and therefor getting 'upside down' on their auto loans like never before in history. Smart money is on using a car for at least 10 years before buying a 'new to you', two or three year old auto.

Regarding your stance on this issue, there is a philosophy that if one member of a partnership says 'no' then that is the way it goes. In other words, both parties have to be in agreement in order to go on with the issue at hand.

Anyway, I support you Robyn. I hate debt and I hate auto loans even more, I hate those monthly payments that seem never ending!! LOL!!
