I need some ideas... I have $250.00 to feed a family of 5 for 3 weeks. Any suggestions on how to pinch some penny's and still give nutritious meals... 2 of the 5 are toddlers so they don't eat a ton of food but still we usually spend about 150 a week.
Thank you it's going to be a TIGHT month

Hi,
My advice is to visit the Frugal Kitchen and the Budgeting message boards as well as this one.
Secondly, plan your meals completely around sales. Think twice before buying anything at full price. Have rice or potatoes or beans at every meal. And never pay more than $1.99 per pound for meat. :)
Good luck, you can do it!

I try to do one night a week of pasta.
tuna mac and cheese and a cup of frozen peas that is a tuna dish under 3.00
V8. a couple cans Chile beans, cabbage and a pound of cheap hamburger makes a big pot of cabbage soup again under 3.00
Make dressing and add a cup or so of small pieces of chicken breast then have a veggie on the side that is cheap
make spaghetti and add cut up veggie, green peppers, onions. pepperoni anything you would put on a veggie pizza and put Italian dressing on it instead of spaghetti sauce that is a little different and cheap too. Make this at the end of the week when you got a lot of little pieces of veggies you have left
