Discouraged...

I've been lurking here for a long time...years, really. I've posted a few times too....So, basically I'm just starting to feel a little frustrated and discouraged.

We are finally in a position to begin making faster headway on our debts as I have recently become employed full-time. Prior to that, I was a SAHM and graduate student. Well, I graduated and am in a job a bit below my education level, but still in my field. So all in all, this should sound pretty good. Each month we have close to, and sometimes even above, $2000 that can go toward paying down our debt.

So why in the world am I feeling so apathetic and down about everything? It doesn't really make sense. I just am so tired around

Chin up, girl!!! Lots of people wish they had that $2,000 to put towards debt. I understand where you are coming from though. I have 3 children and I feel like I carry the weight of the world on my shoulders. I don't know about you but I try to shoulder it all myself to keep my DH from worrying. He knows what we owe but I handle the bill-paying, etc. He just hands over money from his paycheck to go towards the bills. I can tell you that the more you pay down, the more weight that it feels is lifting from your shoulders, the better the marriage becomes, etc. I didn't realize how much stress is put on us from being in debt but I have come to realize that it is true because I have been debt snowballing since July and I can feel my stress level relieving somewhat. It's good to know that we are making headway. Just keep plugging along. Visit and read these message boards often. I often feel better because I read lots of stories about people who are so much worse off than we are. Good luck and keep that snowball rolling!!!!!!!!

Don't panic out Do you all ever have weekends off together If you do get mom to take baby over night and have a good weekend of you and me time. That does wonders.

Really as far as debt goes you are really around here pretty low. But I would check out the interest rate and keep an eye open for lower rates all the time. Lower the rate even with the fee means more goes on the debt. And start that change jar if you haven't already That is so important to give your self some piece of mind.

Many years ago I used to raise dogs and work too. My boss would always say I can tell when Mary Ann has a litter she acts different. Guess he was says I had money so I didn't act so needy or something. Still haven't figured that one out.

Good Luck to you and family

Mary Ann

Thanks Mary Ann,

Yeah, we could definitely use a weekend just the two of us...our son is already 6 years old and I can't remember the last time we had the house completely to ourselves!

Actually, in my counter I only included the CC and Car debt (thankfully the

Just a wild guess here, but I bet a part of you thought of getting your degree as the final step in a very huge accomplishment.

You need to break it down more in terms of the debt.
